How well are we preparing young people for life and work in the 21st century?

Tuesday 6th December | 9.30am-4.30pm | Kings Place, London

Why?

Both challenges and opportunities are arising form the radical changes being introduced to the English education system. With young people entering an increasingly uncertain future, this conference brings together leading education and business figures from across the world to explore some of the key issues English schools and the education system need to confront to prepare young people for life and work.

What?

This event will build on the success of last year's sellout event and delegates will hear from a distinguished panel of keynotes who will explore:

What knowledge, skills and personal qualities do employers seek in graduates,      school leavers and apprentices? (Caroline Waters, BT)

What does the 21st century hold for us and what are the implications for schools and education systems? (Professor Keri Facer, Manchester Metropolitan University)

What is Finland doing to its education system to prepare their young people for life and work? (Kristiina Kumpulainen, Finnish National Board of Education)

What is one of the top chain of schools in America doing to make sure every student leaves school "college ready"? (Larry Rosenstock, High Tech High)

Engage in breakout sessions that will address themes including Transforming Education Systems, Curriculum and Assessment, Schools and Communities and Leadership, Pedagogy and CPD implications. Breakouts will be chaired with contributions from schools and other experts followed by Q&A and discussion.
